In His Anugraha Bhashana, the Jagadguru conveyed the significance of Devata Prathistha explaining that the omnipresent God is consecrated in a temple shrine only because most people are not like exalted devotees like Prahlada who could see the Lord everywhere. Hence the need for deifying a stone in accordance to the Shastras so that anyone can assemble and focus their thoughts on the Supreme Power. The Jagadguru also said that temples serve as centres where every person could seek spiritual solace in times of difficulty. The Jagadguru returned to Bangalore on the 10th evening.

  • An ideal disciple will indeed act as per the Guru’s instructions and not give place to thoughts as “Is it possible for me to do as he says? Shall I try something else?” If we follow our Guru’s instructions, it does not mean that we are unintelligent. It only implies that we have surrendered for our own good to a power superior to us.
