Children enact Sri Shankara’s life and teachings

Children depicting the life and teachings of
Sri Adi Shankara through Bharata Natyam

On 11th May 2007, Children who are members of Shankara Rotray library, maintained by Sri Sharada Peetham, Rotary Club of Bangalore, and Hippocampus performed a cultural program in front of the Jagadguru depicting Sri Shankara’s life and teachings at the Shankarapuram Math. The Jagadguru in His Anugraha Bhashana praised and blessed the children of the library saying that they are cultivating values at the right age and commended the efforts of the instructors and the librarians.

An ideal disciple will indeed act as per the Guru’s instructions and not give place to thoughts as “Is it possible for me to do as he says? Shall I try something else?” If we follow our Guru’s instructions, it does not mean that we are unintelligent. It only implies that we have surrendered for our own good to a power superior to us.
