Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji graced the Rajiv Gandhi Kendriya Samskrita Vidya Peetham, Sringeri on the occasion of the annual day function of Rajiv Gandhi Kendriya Samskrita Vidya Peetham, Rashtriya Samskrit Sansthan at Sringeri on Dec 17th 2009. The Jagadguru was received with Poorna Kumbha honours by the Registrar of Rashtriya Samskrita Sansthan, Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan and Principal of the Vidya Peetham, Prof. Sacchidananda Udupa.

The Jagadguru in His Sanskrit Anugraha Bhashanam said eventhough mastering a single Shastra involves intense study and take decades, students must strive for excellence in the few texts in their Shastra of specialization, taught during the degree programmes.

The Jagadguru also released the annual souvenir “Sharada” and 2 other books in Sanskrit (titled “Saaraswatam” and “shabdaan jaaneemahe”) published on the occasion. The Jagadguru invoked the Grace of Goddess Sharada to bless the students and lecturers of the campus in their efforts to gain and spread knowledge.
