Vardhanti celebrations at Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math


 

With the benign blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the 60th Vardhanthi Mahotsavam was celebrated in a very grand manner at Sringeri Shankara Math in Chembur in Mumbai on Sunday, the 21st of March 2010.

In the function which commenced in the morning with Guru Vandanam, pandits performed mahanyasa poorvaka ekadasa rudrabhishekam, sri rudra homam, ayusha homam, amritha mrithunjaya homam, sri sookta homam,  navagra homam etc.

In the evening the portrait of acharyal was placed in silver chariot and taken in procession through the main streets of Chembur.  Large number of devotees participated in the morning function and in the evening procession.
