In accordance to the practice of having Darshan of the presiding deity before taking the Vrata, the Jagadguru before commencing the Pujas had Darshan at the Adhishtanams of His Guru, Paramaguru and Parameshti Guru and the shrine of Goddess Sharada. A couple of days earlier, the Jagadguru had Darshan at Lord Malahanikareshwara temple on the northern bank of the river Tunga.

The Jagadguru then distributed Tirtha Prasada to the thousands of devotees who had witnessed the Puja. The entire event was telecast live on Sankara TV. The following day, the Jagadguru performed Uttara Puja from 8:30 AM and Vyasa Akshata was distributed.
