Jagadguru completes Chaturmasya


 

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji completed His 37th Chaturmasya on 12th September 2011 at Sringeri.


Jagadguru performing special puja to Goddess Lakshmi

During the Chaturmasya period, the Jagadguru performed a number of Pujas and observed a number of Vratas. With the Shravana masa spreading over the month of August, the Jagadguru performed the elaborate Somavara Pujas on the afternoons of the 5 Somavara Pujas on August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29th. The Jagadguru observed the Varamahalakshmi Vrata on August 12th. On August 13th, devotees sought special blessings of the Jagadguru after the Rig and Yajur Veda Upakarmas while the Samavedis performed Upakarma and sought the Jagadguru’s blessings on 31st August.

The Jagadguru performed a special night Puja on Krishna Janmashtami (21st August). Swarna Gowri Vrata was observed in the Math premises at Pravachana Mandiram on 31st August. Many Suvasinis came to the Math from in and around Sringeri and offered worship.

On 1st September, the Jagadguru performed the Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja. At 4 pm, the Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sabha commenced under the august presidentship of the Jagadguru.


Jagadguru performs special puja to Lord Umamaheshwara

The Jagadguru observed the Uma Maheshwara Vrata on the day, and later in the evening, crossed over to the northen bank of the Tunga and had Darshan at Goddess Sharada temple. Thereafter, the Jagadguru walked to the temple of Lord Malahanikareshwara situated on a nearby hillock, and had Darshan Kedara Vrata (6th September), Vamana Jayanti (8th September) and Ananta Padmanabha Vrata (11th September) were devoutly observed at Sringeri with the Jagadguru performing special Pujas.

The Jagadguru completed the Chaturmasya Vrata on 12th September. The Jagadguru observed the Uma Maheshwara Vrata on the day, and later in the evening, crossed over to the northen bank of the Tunga and had Darshan at Goddess Sharada temple. Thereafter, the Jagadguru walked to the temple of Lord Malahanikareshwara and had Darshan.
