Sri Ganeshotsava celebrations at Mumbai Shankara Math


 

Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka chaturthi is a main festival in the Indian almanac, celebrated by millions of Hindus throught the world. Maharashtra is well known for Ganesh Utsav.  While the Jagadguru Shankaracharya observes this vrata at the place He is camping, for chaturmasya, branch maths of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, celebrate this festival with devotion for the benefit of the resident devotees in the respective places and the for the greater benefit of Loka-Kshemam (well being of all).

This year also, Ganesh Utsav was celebrated in a grand manner in Sri Sringeri Math, Chembur, Mumbai. In 1992 and 2007 during the Vijaya-yatra of the Jagadguru to Maharashtra, devotees of Mumbai had the blessing to witness the Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja and Sri Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat-Sadas conducted by the Jagadguru at Mumbai.

Throught the nine days, Lord Ganesha was propiated with Vedic Mantras, and shodashopachara Pujas as prescribed in the scriptured. Very many devotees came had Darshan of Lord Vinayaka at the temple.
