Jagadguru Graces Shatachandi Poornahuti at Nagara


 


Jagadguru graces Nagara on the occasion of Shatachandika yaga Poornahuti at the residence of Asthana Vidwan Sri Vinayaka Udupa

On 9th May 2014 morning, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji started from Sringeri and arrived at the residence of Asthana Vidwan Veda Brahma Sri Vinayaka Udupa at Nagara and graced the Poornahuti of Shatachandi Mahayaga. Sri Udupa performed Dhuli Padapuja and made all the arrangements for the Jagadguru’s visit. In the evening Jagadguru blessed the assembled devotees with an Ashirvachanam. In that, the Jagadguru mentioned that Asthana Vidwan Sri Vinayaka Udupa had accompanied the Jagdguru during His 1985 Vijaya Yatra and had facilitated the performance of many Kumbhabhishekas, Chandika Yagas, Rudra Yagas during the Yatra with dedication and devotion. The Jagadguru pointed out that Sri Udupa’s Punyakarma had made him to come to Sringeri when he was in poverty during his younger days. Sri Udupa had studied the Rig Veda and Sahitya at Sringeri Pathashala and served in the Pathashala for many years. The Jagadguru appreciated the Gurubhakti of Sri Udupa and said that even at his ripe age of 87, he executes the directives of the Jagadguru with unswerving obedience. Then the Jagadguru blessed the families of all who had helped Sri Udupa during his young age when his family was striving over difficult situations. The Jagadguru also blessed the Melmangalam devotees and others who have been supporting the elderly scholar in his Dharmic activities.
