Pattabhisheka day of Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji October 13, 2014

The 25th anniversary of the Pattabhisheka of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahaswamiji of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham was celebrated at Sringeri on 13th
October 2014. The Mahaswamiji had ascended the Vyakhyana Simhasana on Aashwayuja
Krishna Panchami of the Shukla Samvatsara – 19th October 1989.

Sharannavaratri Celebrations 2014 October 8, 2014

The Sharada Sharan Navaratri Celebrations of the Jaya Samvatsara began with the performance of Mahabhisheka to Goddess Sharadamba on Mahalaya Amavasya (24th September 2014). Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji arrived at the temple of Goddess Sharadamba just before noon. Mahamangalarati was performed to Goddess Sharadamba who sported the Jagat Prasutika Alankara.

Jagadguru inaugurates stotra portal October 3, 2014

On Vijayadashami (October 3rd), the Jagadguru performed the Parayana of the Pattabhisheka Sarga of Srimad Valmiki Ramayanam. The Jagadguru then inaugurated “Jagadguru Stotra Ratna Mala (http://stotra.sringeri.net)” a web-portal.

Conducted under the august chairmanship of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji in Sri Sacchidananda Vilas, Narasimha Vanam, the Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sabha proceedings consisted of deliberations in four Shastras namely Vedanta, Mimamsa, Nyaya and Vyakarana. About 50 renowned Shastric scholars across the country participated in the Sabha and deliberated in Sanskrit for 13 days from Vinayaka Chaturthi day (Aug 29th).

Jagadguru completes 40th Chaturmasya September 9, 2014

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji completed His 40th Chaturmasya on 9th September 2014 at Sringeri.
During the Chaturmasya period, the Jagadguru performed a number of Pujas and observed a number of Vratas. These included the elaborate Shravana Somavara Pujas on 5 Mondays of the Shravana month, the Varamahalakshmi Vrata and the Krishna Janmashtami Puja. The Swarna Gowri Vrata was observed in the Math premises at Pravachana Mandiram on 28th August. Many Suvasinis came to the Math from in and around Sringeri and offered worship.

On 24-08-2014 Sunday morning the Administrator and CEO Dr. V.R. Gowrishankar came to the Gurunivas with his family and performed Padapuja in the divine presence of the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji and obtained the blessings of the Jagadguru for the successful conduct of the weeklong celebrations of his Shashtyabda Poorti.

Varamahalakshmi vrata August 8, 2014

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji observed Varamahalakshmi vrata and worshipped Goddess Varamahalakshmi with a detailed puja in the evening of 8th August 2014.

Spoken Sanskrit workshop in Pathashala August 4, 2014

A workshop on spoken Samskritam was conducted at Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samkrita Mahapathashala. More than 80 students from the Pathashala had participated in the workshop.

Prathama Ekadashi July 29, 2014

On 8th July 2014, Prathama Ekadashi was observed at the Peetham. The Jagadguru observed Kasthta Mounam on this day. The Pathashala Senior Vidyarthis and Adhyapakas performed Parayanam of the entire Rig Veda and Yajur Veda. Ganapati Atharva Sirsha Parayana and Abhisheka to Thorana Ganapati and Shakti Ganapati also took place. A special Tulasi Archana and Aarati took place at Janardana Swamy temple in the afternoon.
