The centenary celebrations of the re-discovery of Sri Adi Shankaracharya Janma Bhoomi Kshetram Kalady, the birth place of Sri Adi Shankaracharya was celebrated in a grand manner in the August presence of the Jagadguru.

The five day long Shata-Chandi Yaga at Kalady concluded with the Purnahuti ceremony, here at Kalady, today, the 28th of May 2010 at around 11:30 AM.

The Jagadguru visited the shrines of Sri Krishna and Devi Katyayani, which are associated with Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s childhood in Kalady and had darshan of the presiding deities.

Lord Narasimha has a special place in the life of Sri Adi Shankaracharya as is evident from the Madhaviya Shankara Digvijaya. Fittingly, the Narasimha Jayanti fell on May 26th this year during the Centenary Celebrations at Kalady. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji offered special worship in the afternoon to Lord Narasimha at the Kshetram.

Following is the benedictory discourse delivered by Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji on the 23rd of May 2010 in the evening after the Kumbhabhishekam of the temples of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and Sri Sharadamba at Kalady on the occassion of the Centenary celebrations of the rediscovery of the birth place of Sri Adi Shankaracharya in Kalady, Kerala in India by the 33rd Shankaracharya of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji.

Due to the request from many devotees, the Shankara Jayanti Puja and Anugraha Bhashanam by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will be re-telecast tomorrow, the 22nd of May 2010 at 8:00 PM IST.
